History of Heroes

What is a hero? How does someone become one? Throughout history, ordinary men and women made choices that changed lives. They showed great courage, empathy, and ingenuity, among other qualities. What sets them apart, though, is that they made a difference in their sphere of influence.
In History of Heroes, we will be studying many of these heroes and what made them great. Each week, we will learn about a new hero! Through hands-on activities and field trips, we will learn about what qualities they had and how we can develop those qualities in ourselves. Our learning will connect us to historical periods from the Revolutionary War to the Civil Rights Movement, and might even include your family history. Homework will include reading articles, watching videos, and discovering for ourselves what makes a hero. This amazing class is designed to empower YOU to find the hero in yourself. Will you accept your call to adventure and choose the path to your personal hero’s journey?
