Materials Required
- Digital Camera
Note: if you have a smartphone with a camera you can use that OR you can choose to buy a digital point and shoot camera. Everything you learn in this class can be done on either one.
You can shop around and choose anything you like, but here are a few different options that would work perfectly: (The best is #1, you don’t always need the most expensive.)
- Rovemre 50 megapixel Digital Camera: ~$26
- Lecnippy 48 megapixel Digital Camera: ~$50
- Camkory 44 megapixel Digital Camera: ~$40
2. Access to a laptop to work on the yearbook in class
3. Canva subscription (free, we will help students get this set up in class but they will need an email address)
Homework
Each member of the class will get to be in charge of completing some of the pages in the yearbook, so homework will be to follow through with getting those pages done, and meeting deadlines.
Notes
This is a full year class, both semesters are required. This is a reimagining of yearbook class. We will be learning a lot about photography and photo editing as well as putting the yearbook together. We will have tons more time in class to work on the yearbook so you most likely will not have any homework.
We will use some AI in photo editing, but it's not required. It is simply one of the many tools available in editing software so we will teach them how to use it. They can absolutely be successful without AI.
