Wonders of Art: Exploring Drawing, Painting, Art History, and the Beauty of Creation

Students will explore wonders of art through art history-based projects done in class. We will experiment with lots of different media, including brush drawing, sketching, watercolor, acrylics, screen printing, sculpting, jewelry, mosaics, and fiber arts.

We will begin each class with drawing exercises to warm up, build the skill of observation, and practice letting go of perfection. We will take regular field trips to museums, galleries, and meet with artists in their studios. We look forward to many messy learning experiences to grow our skill, knowledge, and gratitude for the process of creation.
