The Sum-it Society

It is sometimes hard to make yourself do your math? Do you find that you prioritize all your other assignments each week and often your math goes undone? Let us help make your math just a little easier (and possibly more fun) with the new club at ASA called The Sum-it Society.

Here’s how it works:

1. Set a weekly math assignment goal with your mom that you’ll complete at home (either # of lessons or amount of time spent).

2. Report each week how much math you did.

3. Successfully accomplish more than 85% of your goal to participate in an epic outdoor laser tag adventure at the end of the semester with everyone else in the club.

Potential additional club perks to increase the fun that are still being discussed:

* An anonymous chart posted at ASA or online to see how everyone in the club is doing.
* Badges that could be earned when you meet certain milestones.
* Club members could be grouped into “houses” (similar to Hogwarts) to create a friendly sense of competition.

Notes

To successfully accomplish your goal, you will need to commit to doing math homework each week and reporting each week. Doing a massive amount of work the week before the end of the semester won't count.
